Having worked with doctors, optometrists etc all over the world for over 30 years, I have learned that every human being has one thing in common: No one is patient with themselves.
A lot of people who come and see me, have not spent a moment analysing the potential process how the lens will get into their eye. Often it is a revelation when I begin teaching the person in front of me, that it is up to them and their technique how quickly or slowly they will be able to put the contact lenses into their eyes … and I have to say people in “higher positions” are the worst.
So, should you be contemplating contact lenses as a life style or an every day alternative to spectacles then please follow our advice and bring a little time with you. Do not sandwich a contact lens assessment between two of your other appointments as you will not achieve your goal and walk away frustrated. After all I have to be confident that you are able to take the lenses out safely (as I will not be there in the evening to help you).
